Historique :	Découvert par l'association "Les amis de la cathédrale Saint-Bénigne". Ce bloc de grandes dimensions présente un décor végétal profondément creusé dans la pierre et souligné par des nervures et des perforations de trépan afin de jouer avec les reliefs et les contrastes. Ce type de décor se retrouve sur un chapiteau provenant a priori de la rotonde de Saint-Bénigne, aujourd'hui disparu, mais dont un moulage est conservé au Musée Archéologique de Dijon (Inventaire Arb. 1128). Il est présenté par F. Joubert dans le catalogue Sculpture médiévale en Bourgogne page 120-121.
