Description :	Cette statue en pierre comporte des traces de polychromie. Le siège est creusé, sur le revers, d'une niche, fermée par une porte, disparue, avec feuillure et trous de scellement pour des charnières et un loquet, qui abritait probablement des reliques.

Historique :	La chapelle a été bâtie en 1658 par un sous-prieur du prieuré de Bar, sur les ruines d'un ancien édifice religieux, qui fut peut-être un ermitage. Deux légendes font mention de la découverte d'une statue de la Vierge au pied d’un arbre, ce qui incita son inventeur à bâtir une chapelle. Serait-ce la Vierge en majesté qui trône encore sur l'autel ?
